Bay Area’s garage-punk royalty Shannon & The Clams have today shared their exhilarating new single ‘Midnight Wine’, the first cut lifted from their forthcoming sixth studio album, Year of the Spider lands August 20 and is available to pre-order on all formats here.

The album’s first arrival is the explosive psychedelic freakout, ‘Midnight Wine. Opening with a stomping, organ-laden beat, the song tramples forward as songwriter Cody Blanchard grapples with dying thoughts in a barren wasteland while towering organs and fuzzed-out guitars distract from the despair.

Coming hand-in-hand with the new single is the official clip for ‘Midnight Wine’, a video directed and hand-animated by Blanchard himself.
