When it comes to male porn stars no name is bigger in the industry than the legendary Ron Jeremy. So while in Melbourne for Sexpo 2017 when asked if we wanted to interview the man himself the answer was an immediate yes. We chatted with Ron Jeremy while on comfy bean bags surrounded by 70’s porn playing on old TV’s. He tells us about his new Rum, shares a Hugh Hefner memory and even shows off his harmonica skills.

What is it like to be back in Australia ?

Ron Jeremy
It is great you know feels like I never left (laughs) its been like five or six years I think since I lasted hosted the Sydney Sexpo and came back the next year for the Melbourne one and now I have even more reasons to love it in Australia, as for you guys are buying my rum its called Ron De Jeremy Rum you can get it as Spiced or Dark and it is sold at Dan Murphys, so I am having a few good times drinking rum with you Australians.

Is there anything you particularly enjoy about Australia say compared to America ?

Oh yea the accent’s are great but I don’t know maybe its an island thing and I am not just saying it because I am here but Australian’s are very nice girls and guys both you know and when they come visit us at the Rainbow Bar And Grill when in America they are so nice. oh and a funny thing I was told and I have noticed that Australians mens palms are sweaty and it’s true I noticed that from working over here and with the kiwis over in New Zealand when you go to shake an Aussie guys hands their palms are all sweaty. Not a big deal you know and the toilet really does twirl in the other direction being that you are on the other side of the globe and you guys have a great expression the wombat eats, roots and leaves.

You tell me (Ron Then plays a great rendition of Waltzing Matilda) and comments on how we as a nation want it to be our anthem but he thinks our current one isn’t bad

How did your rum come about ?

Ron Jeremy
Ron is rum in spanish and these guys approached me about doing a rum and I thought about it and Ron Howard is making movies Ronald Mcdonald is making hamburgers Enron is making thieves and that leaves me so we agreed to do this and we have a great slogan you aware of Captain Morgan? yeah ? well Captain Morgan is on one leg I’m on three.

What cocktails does it mix well into ?

Ron De Jeremy Spiced goes great with Malibu goes great with pineapple its very ocean like, Rum is kind of like that drink you know that goes along with pirates you dont ever hear them yo ho ho and a bottle of vodka you just dont hear them say that its the rum and its an ocean drink and that is why we are doing great in the ocean cities over the world.

We are literally sitting a room surrounded by tv playing porn you hear of so many Hollywood actors not wishing to watch their performances is that the same for yourself ?

Ron Jeremy
That depends if you want to get better sometimes you have to watch yourself on film if you want to do a good job then it helps.

Its not just porn vidieo clips we have seen you in but we have seen you in so many amazing band video clips like A Day To Remember, LMFAO. Steel Panther to name but a few, is there any favorites you have been in?

Yea I have the worlds record on appearing in music videos, Armin Van Burin this is what it feels like Sublime and they put me in the song lyrics ‘Mucho gusto me llamo bradley I’m hornier than Ron Jeremy’

We really liked the movie Detroit Rock City what was it like being in that film ?

Ron Jeremy
The director was a friend of mine Adam Rifkin and it was great we flew into Canada for my part and it was a great little part intoducing Edward Furlong you also see me in studio 54 so I have done my fair share of main stream stuff you know like reality tv oh and Boon Dock saints is popular.

Yeah you just never know, you know it is a surprise but i like it.

Recently Hugh Hefner passed away is there any memories you wish to share ?

Ron Jeremy
Oh , so many I used to go to the mansion every New Years Eve I have been there for every mid summer nights dream most of the Halloween and Hef was always very very gracious. One incident was I knew he was a huge fan of Clockwork Orange it was his favourite film so I met Malcom Mcdowell at a trade show and i said listen can you autograph this for Hugh Hefner and he was like really ? I said yes he is a huge fan of yours and a huge fan of the movie, so Malcom Mcdowell agreed so I presented Hef with this poster and made a big splash of it and I will never forget what Malcom had written dear Hugh Hefner Fuck You, you get more girls than me love Malcom Mcdowell.

Is the Playboy mansion as amazing as it seems

Oh man you have to be there every Sunday for movie night yeah Hugh Hefner used to throw a movie night in the later days I know something was up as for he kept showing his face and less and less but the excitement was in knowing the man himself was in and even if he didn’t show up you knew just through that window is the man that stared it all. There is talk of turning it into a museum and with him gone the whole excitement of being there is gone.

Do you think the Playboy magazine is as iconic today with the internet ?

Yes Playboy will always have it’s place there is nothing quite like it the beautiful soft sexy non spread like vanity he never had his girls open up their legs ever.

Any adice for the fellas out there that might have there eye on a girl and if they do succeed in picking her up any advice on making things last longer in the bedroom?

Ron Jeremy
The best way to meet a girl is in the night clubs or disco because you committed to asking them to dance and that commitment is breaking the ice anything else Laundromat, supermarket, bakery it might work but they could tell you to go fuck yourself “did i ask you to talk to me ?” where as in a disco your permitted its okay with ettique you can say hello to a girl would you like to dance and she can say yes or no. Best place to meet a girl is on the dance floor so for every one girl that says no ten more might say yes and you dance with them and when you are thats when you start saying things like lovely dress you have a real nice smile , Ron Jeremy wants to do you (laughs) I’m kidding don’t say that you, say you are very pretty have a chat go for a walk and you are on your way and then of course if you end up in the bed make sure you please the girl first and be very non aggressive in todays day and age you got to be very non aggressive you got to be playful.
