December 2019 will see OPETH touring Australia and performing a stunning set of classic tracks from throughout their 30-year career as well as introducing Australian audiences to astounding new material from their new studio album ‘In Cauda Venenum’
And joining OPETH on this epic journey are 3 of Australia’s most prominent Prog Acts. Perth sees Voyager joining the show. After years of evolution and amassing worldwide influence the mould their unique sound. Voyager has truly come into their own in recent years crafting a path both on and off the stage. Their latest album ‘Colours In The Sun’ was released in November.
Then Melbourne can witness alternative progressive rock powerhouse Circles open the show. Circles are the next step in the evolution of heavy music. The intricacy, the emotional heartstring pull of the lyrics, the precision, and the sheer force of their output places them in a class of their own.
Whilst in Brisbane a band who are at the forefront of the Australian Progressive scene Caligula’s Horse are sharing the stage. With 4 well-loved albums under their belt, and a passionate and ever-growing worldwide fanbase, Caligula’s Horse are also broadening their horizons to the rest of the globe. Their 2017 relase ‘In Contact’ debuted at #50 on the ARIA Chart, bringing Caligula’s Horse into the ARIA Top 50 for the first time.
There are few bands that can or will match Sweden’s OPETH. Since forming in the tiny Stockholm suburb of Bandhagen in 1990, the Swedes have eclipsed convention, defiantly crushed the odds, and, most importantly, crafted 12 stunningly beautiful, intrinsically intense albums, to become one of the best bands on the planet; whether that be live or on record. Ask any OPETH fan. Enquire with any band that’s shared the proverbial pine with the Swedes. Or, get a label representative to talk OPETH. They’ll all tell you the same thing: OPETH are peerless. And they’re only getting better.
There is little need to delve further into just how good this band is. If you’ve been fortunate enough to have been present at one of their concerts previously then you know full well that these will be shows not to be missed. If you are yet to witness the awesome power of OPETH live, then it’s time to join the legions of music fans who know already that there will never be a band like OPETH again.
