Sydney’s MERCURY SKY are back with new music – and though the single is called ‘NAUSEA‘ – it won’t make you nauseous. It’s the first single from their forthcoming ‘INFRA‘ EP. that will be released into the world on September 22.
‘Nausea‘ summarises the band’s intentions in creating a piece of work that is more diverse and more intense than they have done before. The lyrical content fundamentally grapples with the principles of existentialism as implied by an observer who feels a self-described ‘nausea’ and begins keeping a journal in an attempt to alleviate the feelings they are having. As a result, they find themselves voraciously contemplating every aspect of their relevance and consequences of their presence as well as the alleged construct that is their existence to alleviate the feeling
Lyrically and conceptually, the band explores a wide range of experiences within the spectrum of humanity such as the ever-increasing dependence on technology as a means of expression, political correctness and the weight of opinions as well as the highs and lows of coping with love, loss and existence.
‘Infra’ will be available Friday September 22 and pre-orders open this Monday August 14, with purchasers receiving ‘Nausea’ immediately as the grat track. The single will also be available in Spotify from Friday.
