Maggie Lindemann – has amassed over one billion combined global streams in the past two years with a string of singles that include the 2x Platinum ‘Pretty Girl‘, ‘she knows it‘ and, most recently, ‘self sabotage‘ – released her debut album SUCKERPUNCH.

Building on the sharp songwriting and singularly honed-in sounds she’d established on her acclaimed 2021 EP PARANOIA, SUCKERPUNCH chronicles a journey of self-discovery and actualisation over the course of its 15 tracks.

“It’s an unexpected punch, a blow you didn’t see coming,” Maggie Lindemann explains. “When I was making this, I had those blows in my own life; when I listened to the album back from start to finish, I realized the entire thing was a sucker punch – for myself, for my fans – and I knew it had to be the title.

On the rebel anthem ‘cages‘ Maggie delivers a sucker punch to haters who mistake her for someone seeking their approval: “Don’t need your take on what I do (woah)/Lions aren’t meant for cages/Let me live my life,” she sings. In the official video, Maggie and her friends gather in an LA parking lot that’s filled with school buses and under the shadow of a towering church. With boards and beer in hand, they head out for a local skate park. Directed by Vixxion and Sam Fine, the kinetic clip mirrors the punk energy of the track, exploding with unpredictable angles and edits.

V Magazine hailed SUCKERPUNCH as “a detailed web of hyperpop-meets-punk tracks and nostalgic, early-aughts punk anthems.”Consequence observed on ‘self sabotage’, “It’s on brand in the best way for Lindemann, who has a knack for highlighting the experiences of young people — particularly young women — who are finding and using their own voices.”

Having accumulated more than a billion streams since she began releasing music, Maggie’s sound shifted in 2020 to align with her own musical inspirations and to motivate a generation of young women searching for their own voices. Maggie has sworn from the moment she started to release her own music on her own label to be her true unfiltered and uncompromising self.

Maggie’s aim is to overcome adversity that is placed on women in music and create music that speaks to her – not a music executive at a label. At 24 years old, Maggie has uncovered her authentic voice as a songwriter and injected a fierce dose of vulnerability and honesty regarding anxieties, obsessions, and insecurities into her new material. Her new collection of tracks featured on SUCKERPUNCH picks up where PARANOIA (over 180 million streams) left off—with Maggie unapologetically spearheading a generational movement of breaking boundaries and societal expectations placed on women.
