Internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Julien Baker has a special treat for her Australian fans today. The Memphis native has just announced a run of dates that will see her phenomenal live show return to Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Melbourne and outback NSW in 2019. This will be Baker’s third visit down under after a wowing Australian audiences with her sparse and devastating ballads at sold out shows in both 2016 and 2017.

This tour will be the first since the release of Baker’s exceptional second album Turn Out The Lights and marks the first time audiences can hear the record live. Turn Out The Lights is more expansive in sound and vision than its predecessor (2015’s landmark debut Sprained Ankle) but has the same breathtaking vulnerability and resilience. Come February next year, fans will get to hear their favourite cuts from both.

Joining Julien as special guest for these shows is Sydney breakout star Gordi who will be performing songs from her sensational 2017 debut Reservoir – an album recorded across Wisconsin, Reykjavik, Los Angeles, New York and Sydney in between a six year medicine degree and international touring. The Guardian called Reservoir “breezy wintry melancholy at its finest”. The tour will also feature a special intimate show in Gordi’s hometown of Canowindra, NSW.

Australian audiences will no doubt get to experience an artist at the peak of her live powers when Baker arrives in the country next year – fresh from multiple tours of north America and Europe as a solo artist and as a member of lauded indie supergroup boygenius. Presale tickets for Julien Baker’s Australian tour are available from November 7 till November 10 HERE (presale password REJOICE) with general on-sale 9:00am, November 12.
