At the beginning of 2018, HURST introduced audiences to their 90s nostalgia-meets-pop grit sound, teasing them with their latest anthems, ‘Rattle Kids’ and current single ‘Purple & Green’ – both of which have received airplay on Triple j. The band now returns from Sydney’s deep suburbia to share their Second EP ‘SADFACE.’, scheduled for release on Friday, July 13th.
The EP is laden with an overarching apathetic angst met with confession-box lyrics on mental health, finding hope in admitting vulnerability, and celebrating diversity. The EP presents the overall message that even when life isn’t a joyride and doesn’t make sense, sometimes you need to just kick off the dust and dance.
“sadface.” is six tracks packed with raw grit, infectious melodies, and anthems that will have you jumping around your bedroom and pulling some serious air guitar shapes.
