“Christmas is celebrated as such a joyous time of year, but for some that is not the case.”Belle Haven‘s vocalist David De La Hoz reflects as he ponders the meaning behind the post-hardcore four piece’s new single Moving On. “While it’s sold as the most wonderful time of the year, I know I’m not alone when I say it rarely is for me. I usually spend the festive season missing someone, regretting past stupid decisions and figuratively banging my head against a wall trying to figure out if I’ll ever be able to fix past mistakes, which is what ‘Moving On’ is ultimately about.”
In a time where live music has been desperately missing from the Australian scene, Belle Haven were one of the first to announce and sell out their two upcoming shows at one of Melbourne’s most exciting venues Stay Gold. Guitarist Christopher Vernon promises a special experience for the die hard fans who managed to nab tickets to the shows. “Right now within the Belle Haven Camp, we have been working hard to create a unique and stripped back version of our usual set. It has been a challenging but rewarding experience view our music through a very different lens.”
As for the future, Vernon promises more new music is just around the corner. “We spent what parts of downtime we could writing and recording some really exciting new material, and now that shows are slowly returning again, soon enough you’ll have even more new music to feast your ears on.”
